I love films, I love movies, I love television, I love television series, I love the internet, I love anything that enhances images. But most of all, I love, love movies. (FAVORITE MOVIES)

Here is the post about my favorite movies. I've just chosen a few because I have soo many favorite movies. It's really hard to decide ;)

SWIMMING POOL

"You know what? You're just a frustrated Englishwoman who writes about dirty things but never does them!"

I've discovered this movie by one of my favorite movie makers last year and I really like this film! It's about Sarah, an English writer, who has enough of writing about dead people and things like that. She wants to write about other things but she needs inspiration. Her publisher sends her to his house in the South of France where she should be able to relax and find new ideas. But when Sarah arrives, there's no time to relax: Julie, her publisher's daughter, is also there and drives Sarah crazy. But then some strange things happen and suddenly the two women have to stick together...
What I like about this movie: It starts very slowly but then it gets really thrilling and mysterious. I don't want to tell more, I think I might tell too much. Just watch it, you won't regret it! ;)

DIE FABELHAFTE WELT DER AMÉLIE (LE FABULEUX DESTIN D'AMÉLIE POULAIN)

"So, my little Amélie, you don't have bones of glass. You can take life's knocks. If you let this chance pass, eventually, your heart will become as dry and brittle as my skeleton."

This movie makes me so happy. I've already made a post about it last year, unfortunately it's in German, but if you don't know what the movie's about, you can read it here. This movie is perfect. For a long time, I've been thinking that it could not be as good as the people say it is. Then I watched it and I was amazed - I never thought that a movie could make me so incredibly happy! All the details, the soundtrack, the people and the dialouges - fabulous!

DELICATESSEN

"Nobody is entirely evil: it's that circumstances that make them evil, or they don't know they are doing evil."

I discovered this movie online and ordered it immediatley because it sounded so interesting - and scary! The story happens in a house where many strange people live. The world is dark and meat is rarely found because of a disaster that took place and 'destroyed' the world. For some meat, people would do everything. One of them is the butcher who is also the owner of the house. He attracts men with a job advertisement but in the end, the men end up as a piece of meat. The former clown Louison answers the advertisement and falls in love with the butcher's daughter but he doesn't realize that he's in danger...
This might sound scary but it's only half as scary as it sounds. And you will be able to eat while watching the movie, I've tried it and it was no problem :P I expected a bloody slaughter but actually the movie is funny in its own way and it's worth a watch ;)

DIE HÖLLE - L'ENFER - THE HELL

"I know it's not her fault. She loves me...in her own way."

I've been looking for this movie for ages and when I got it for Christmas, I was so happy :)
Paul and his beautiful wife Nelly manage a hotel. They have a son and they're happy. But then Paul starts to believe that Nelly cheats on him. He is totally jealous, starts to spy on her and after a while, he even gets hallucinations. Nelly's life becomes a hell.
This film starts happy and everything seems to be alright. When Paul starts to be jealous, you think that it's not that bad. You're waiting for more and more jealousy and you want to see him being jealous and mean. It's already too late when your realize what really happens and you start to suffer too. On the psychological level, it's good that you can't buy it before the age of 16. I really like this movie, it shows how the people really are.

DIE LETZTE METRO - LE DERNIER MÉTRO - THE LAST METRO

"It takes two to love, as it takes two to hate. And I will keep loving you, in spite of yourself. My heart beats faster when I think of you. Nothing else matters."

It's worth watching it ;)

Paris, World War 2: Marion Steiner, a stage actress, is hiding her jewish man Lucas, who works as a stage director, in the cave of the Theatre Montmartre. She tries to find a new play and employs the actor Bernard. While the actors are working, Lucas secretly listens to them and tells Marion every evening what she should change. Bernard is interested in all the actresses - but he doesn't care about Marion at all. It's getting harder for Lucas not to get discovered and Marion slowly falls in love with Bernard...
The movie is a bit older (1980). However, I find it fascinating. The whole theatre thing is interesting and it's exciting to see how Lucas is hiding. I don't often watch movies which play during a war but this one is great and you can find me sitting in front of the TV, being fascinated ever time. It's worth watching it! ;)

I hope you liked this post and who knows, maybe you've already known one of this movies. What are you favorite films?
